CREATING GROWTH IN YOUR LIFE

Here is an often forgotten truth about growth: Growth is not instant. There is no such thing as an overnight success. It takes time to create the results you envision. It requires patience to endure the frustrating and disappointing moments when your vision and reality aren't parallel with one another. It takes effort [consistent effort I might add] to build your dreams. You have to discipline yourself to work towards your goals even when you don't see the results instantly which requires a level of endurance.

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." -Thomas Edison

Olympians train six and seven days a week, for five to six hours at a time...only to compete in heats that are as short as ten seconds long. Why is that? Why prepare so much to perform for such short amount of time? It's because the goal is growth. The goal is improvment. The goal is actualizing their true potential which leads them to success. Many times we can find ourselves engaging in critical self-commentary about our abilities to grow. We often get discouraged about our current results and we quit. We can often develop the thought that success will present itself, and we fail to prepare ourselves to succeed. We have to grow into our dreams and this has to be a daily ritual if we want lasting success.

Here are three keys to help you create growth in your life:

1. DESTROY YOUR LIMITED BELIEFS

Just because it's never been done before doesn't mean it can't happen. Because you've never done it before doesn't mean you can't. If someone has told you that you "can't" or "won't" succeed, that's their opinion and their entitled to it, but their opinion doesen't have to become your truth. If we want to create significant growth we have to begin telling the world what's possible for our lives. Instead of simply believing what we see and hear in the world around us. We can get into the habit of questioning our potential and our ability to accomplish our dreams. This type of thinking will lead you straight down the path of unused potential. You create the rules to your possibilites. Think outside the box to connect with your dreams because greatness can't be confined in boxes built by limitations.

2. BE ON TOP OF YOUR GAME

Every day is a competition. The person you're competing with is the person you were yesterday. Be better than that person. Smarter than that person. Make better decisions. Put the limits further than that person. Develop and challenge yourself, and the way we challenge ourselves is by stepping out of our comfort zone. We can't expect to grow by doing the same mundane tasks every single day. Remember how Albert Einstein put it, "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insane." Search for new experiences. Seek new challenges. Aim for higher initiatives. This is how we can develop our best. Challenge yourself, remember that a single challenge can transform your life.

3. IF YOUR RESULTS AREN'T SATSIFYING THEN EXPERIMENT

If you keep trying to achieve successful results and it doesn't seem to be working, this is not a sign to give up. It's an indication to open your mind to new alternatives. This is a great time for you to get back to the drawing board and experiment with new methods, creative concepts, and revolutionized approaches. Many times we can get so frustrated during the process of creating great outcomes that when we don't see the desired results we quit. Don't give up until you find what works. If you really desire to succeed at your goal remember these suggestions:

1. Have the willingness to examine what you're doing.

2. Have the initiative to ask, "Is there a better way?"

3. Have the perseverance to find the RIGHT WAY

Growth won't just happen because you snap your fingers. If it was that easy, everyone would be evolving into their best self, but we both know it doesn't work that way. Be patient, keep applying your best efforts, and make the proper adjustments when needed. Keep elevating!
